Overview
ATE9430R is the 4K30 wireless video receiver that pairs with ATE9430T, with output up to 3840 × 2160 @ 30Hz or 120Hz at 1080p. It takes the stream from 5 GHz or the built-in 100 Mbps Ethernet port and drives the display directly through the HDMI connector on the carrier, so loop-out does not apply.
At power-up it reads the display EDID and returns it to the transmitter; keyboards, mice and touch screens on this side go back to the host over the reverse channel. Against the 4K60 ATE9461 the difference is the resolution ceiling; everything else works the same way.
The whole video link is encrypted. TX and RX create their own key at pairing, and video, audio and keyboard/mouse data are encrypted all the way. Devices that are not paired cannot join or decode the picture, which suits meeting rooms, hospitals and factories that do not want video leaking out.
ATE9430R shares its pinout with ATE9430T, so both ends can use one carrier: plug in ATE9430T for a transmitter, ATE9430R for a receiver. That carrier does not take the 4K60 ATE9460 / ATE9461.
Typical Applications
Signal Chain
Video goes from transmitter to receiver; EDID and keyboard/mouse data travel back to the host. Wireless and wired links use the same pair of modules.

The two series differ in resolution and in how the transmitter provides loop-out.
Apart from resolution and loop-out, the two series share the same size, wireless and Ethernet, link encryption, EDID and KVM behaviour. Their pinouts differ, though, so carriers are not interchangeable and the series do not cross-pair. Loop-out only concerns the transmitter; receivers drive HDMI directly.

Carrier Board Design Notes
- Keep VBUS between 3.7 and 5.1 V. Step down 12 V, 24 V or USB-C high voltage, allowing at least 1 A per module. Tie all VBUS pins together with 22 μF + 100 nF at the edge connector.
- Route the four TMDS pairs at 100 Ω differential, intra-pair skew under 5 mil and inter-pair under 20 mil, with no layer changes or split crossings.
- When TX and RX share one carrier, lay out the HDMI connector, Ethernet and antenna once; ATE9430T makes it a transmitter, ATE9430R a receiver.
- For a wired link, connect the Ethernet pairs from the edge connector to magnetics and an RJ45; add a 100 Mbps media converter for fiber.
- Leave room for two antennas if you plan on RTL8812CU; D40 and D80 need one.
- 4K30 and 4K60 pinouts differ, so this carrier cannot take ATE9460 / ATE9461. Moving to 4K60 later means a new carrier designed for the 4K60 pinout.
- Leave N and NC pins open. The module runs warm, so leave airflow or a thermal pad over it.
