Key differences
Resolution and high refresh
ATE9430T reaches 3840 × 2160 @ 30Hz and up to 120Hz at 1080p. ATE9460 reaches 3840 × 2160 @ 60Hz and runs 1080p at 240 / 165 / 144 / 120Hz. Both accept 1080p, 720p and other lower formats, both handle 8-bit / 10-bit colour (up to 4K30 at 10-bit), and both pass HDR10 and HLG.
How loop-out is done
On ATE9430T the loop-out is inside the module; the carrier routes it from the edge connector to a second HDMI connector, up to 4K30, with no extra chip. ATE9460 has no loop-out of its own. An HDMI splitter chip between the carrier's HDMI input and the module, one branch to the module and one to the loop-out connector, gives 4K60 loop-out.
Pinout and carrier board
Both are 22 × 45 mm with an 80-pin edge connector, but the pinouts differ and carriers cannot be mixed. ATE9430T shares its pinout with the ATE9430R receiver, so one carrier serves as transmitter or receiver depending on the module. ATE9460 and ATE9461 have different pinouts and need separate TX and RX carriers. Starting on 4K30 and moving to 4K60 later means redrawing the carrier for the 4K60 pinout.
What they share
Both have H.265 encoding, 5 GHz VHT40 wireless, a built-in 100M Ethernet PHY, end-to-end link encryption, EDID return, HDCP 2.3 / 1.4, a KVM reverse channel and button pairing. Range depends on the Wi-Fi module, not on which of the two you pick. ATE9460 draws 500 – 800 mA (2.5 – 3.8 W); ATE9430T current is TBD.
Which one to pick
If your product carries video playback, games or camera feeds, or needs 1080p at 240Hz
Choose ATE9460 (paired with ATE9461)If the transmitter box needs a local monitor output and the content is mostly slides, spreadsheets or signage where 4K30 is enough
Choose ATE9430T (paired with ATE9430R); loop-out needs no extra chipIf you want the transmitter and receiver on the same carrier board to save one prototype run
Choose the 4K30 ATE9430T / ATE9430RIf you need 4K60 and local loop-out together
Choose ATE9460 and add an HDMI splitter chip on the carrier
